AI Chatbots Are Being Used By People To "Resurrect" The


Many people find the rise of artificial intelligence to be quite unsettling, even though it will undoubtedly open up many more opportunities that were not previously possible.

Even though AI can explore the "ideal boyfriend" in every US state or the "average person" for every job, its development is undoubtedly opening up some more unexpected possibilities.

An increasing number of people are currently experimenting with AI to see if it can "resurrect" departed friends and family members.

Ray Kurzweil, an inventor and futurist, is one of those people, employing AI to replicate some of his departed family members.

Specifically, Kurzweil is trying to 'bring back' his father, who passed away when the inventor was only 22 years old. Kurzwei's daughter Amy chronicled his endeavors in a comic book, which he started over a decade ago.What steps has Kurzweil taken to create a "replicant" of his father, then? It all began, however, with his father's letters, essays, and musical compositions being fed into an AI system.

But his ambitions don't end there. He intends to use nanotechnology and DNA from his father's buried bones to resurrect his father one day. For the time being, however, Kurzweil is limited to dealing with the "dad bot"—although the inventor may be able to speak with this entity. Kurzweil stated, "I actually had a conversation with him, which felt a lot like talking to him," in an interview with Rolling Stone earlier this year. The speaker proceeded to express his belief that a 'dad bot' will be introduced to a wider audience in the future, an event that would undoubtedly upend the lives of numerous individuals.

This is due to the possibility that, should they so choose, it would allow everyone to maintain contact with their departed kin.

Kurzweil predicts that humans will be able to interface their brains with machines by 2045, and he has even more grandiose plans for his father by then.He believes that his father could be physically revived by nanomachines, which would truly make history.

"We can find some of his DNA around his grave site," Kurzweil clarified. "That's a lot of information right there."

"The AI will send down some nanobots, retrieve some teeth or bone, take out some DNA, and assemble everything." Subsequently, they will obtain data from my memory and those of others who have recollections of him."
